“Addiction doesn’t discriminate.”
“Age, color, religion, financial status, sexual orientation; addiction doesn’t discriminate. Today it is everywhere. Electronics, drugs, alcohol, sex and pornography, gambling, and, even food, provide the platforms for getting hooked. They drag you in, and before you know it, you can’t live without it.
Our schools, workplaces, and businesses, often open 7 days a week, can be breeding grounds and provide the social environments and peer pressure that encourage ‘just try it’ or belonging to the in crowd. What will one hit hurt? Loneliness and personal problems drift away with each use. Families suffer and try to help the struggling addict, only to enable the disease. Recovery is a long and lonely road, which only the addict can choose.
Our world is addicted more today than ever before. There are no easy answers, only difficult questions.”
– Kris, Grandparent, North Dakota
WHAT CAN BE
“Less ignorant to others in need.”
“Less addiction to alcoholic substances. More natural life on ground. Less electronic use to save money and needs. More usage of natural life. Less ignorant to other in need.”
– Michaela, Age 10
