Generations United is seeking individuals interested in joining an Advisory Group on Diverse Intergenerational Programs. Intergenerational programs unite younger and older generations to enrich participants’ lives and help address vital social and community issues.
The objectives of the Advisory Group are to:
- Advise on the development of an environmental scan that aims to identify and elevate intergenerational programs across the US that are inclusive and culturally, racially, and ethnically diverse.
- Support the revision of Generations United’s Programs of Distinction designation to ensure that the criteria and process reflect current research and best practices while incorporating a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Develop strategies and identify communications channels for disseminating information about intergenerational programs to racially and ethnically diverse communities.
Members will represent a broad range of expertise, including intergenerational practitioners, researchers, and program participants.
The Advisory Group will meet virtually for 60-90 minutes up to 4 times between December 2021 – August 2022. Members will also be asked to occasionally review materials and provide feedback over email. Members will receive a modest honorarium to compensate for their participation.
Interested individuals should complete this form by December 1st. Selected members will be notified by December 6th.
The first meeting of the Advisory Group is scheduled for 2-3 pm, EDT on Tuesday, December 14th.
