Through our SESSIONS Life Enrichment Program, Cadence Living® supports the totality of life with engaging activities designed to keep your loved one happy and healthy. With arts and crafts classes, music classes, lecture series and intergenerational exchanges with the local schools and youth programs, including our Intergenerational Garden Club where children and elders plant, tend and harvest together, we activate every part of the mind and body. Support and Resource Services including peer support groups, crisis assistance and linkage services that address immediate needs in the home and child’s life, foster resiliency and strengthen these non-traditional families. Trainings, community outreach and online/offline resources for grandparents and other adult caregivers. Advocacy at the grassroots and government levels for the rights and concerns of adult caregivers and the youth for which they are responsible.

Oasis Intergenerational Tutoring is a volunteer program that pairs older adults with children in kindergarten –third grades to work one-on-one each week as their tutors, mentors and friends. Oasis tutors use a six-step approach to literacy designed by educators that emphasizes improved reading, speaking, listening and writing.

State-licensed programs for children ages 12 months to age 5. Summer program for children ages 5-8. Children thrive in our self-directed learning curriculum and our unique intergenerational programming. We offer care Monday through Friday and encourage parental involvement. Keyword: Shared Site

Yad B’ Yad (Hand in Hand) recruits Jewish adult volunteers as mentors, companions, and role models for Jewish children ages 6 to 17. The relationship strengthens the family by enriching children’s lives with additional adult influence and support.

Our intergenerational child care philosophy is learning through play and exploration. We offer a unique program that brings multiple generations together in a stimulating environment. As children and older adults share memories, play games and create together an unmistakable bond forms that transcends generations. For children who do not live near their own grandparents, these connections can be especially poignant and meaningful. They’ll understand more about life and discover many similarities between themselves and their “Grand-friends”. This understanding and love will lay a foundation for celebrating diversity, a skill that they will use throughout their lives. Our program has been designed to give daily opportunities to interact and build friendships through our staff-supervised activities such as; read-a-long time, gardening, bingo, lifelong learning music program, walks around our senior campus, inclusion in the weekly programs for entertainment and special meals together. Blending the Generations is an 8-week community-based intergenerational program that promotes communication and collaboration among people of different generations. Participants engage in different activities that have them work together, including a talent show. The program’s goal is to reduce the effects of negative stereotypes and increase participants’ perceptions of generations that differ from their own.

Everlasting Knowledge Academy (EKA) is a newly founded nonprofit organization passionate about service. We are an intergenerational, faith-based learning center positively impacting the future by creating mutual understanding and appreciation of all generations. Our pursuit is to serve all ages, like a community center, teaching The Word as well as life skills and enrichment education. We have witnessed the adverse effects of the majority of young people not being taught and our elders not being treasured. We believe our multi-faceted approach will combat these issues while providing fun and affordable learning opportunities. Keyword: Shared Site

Music students from the Music Institute of Chicago give back through their local community by using music as a tool for connection. Students in this program connect with isolated older adults and other at-risk populations including the homeless and individuals with disabilities. Service programs include Musical Pen Pals, a 1-on-1 social and musical connection program conducted both in person and virtually, group performances at older adult living centers, and student music performances as part of Meals on Wheels food delivery.
