    The Peralta Intergenerational Project' started six years ago and involves 1st - 5th grade classes from Peralta Elementary School in Oakland, CA taking monthly field trips to create art with elders who have dementia at The Bay Area Community Services Adult Day Care Center.

  2. All Together Now – Center for Digital Storytelling
    The Center for Digital Storytelling works at the national and international level on projects with dozens of collaborators each year. We have numerous projects that have an intergenerational orientation with our partners. We are currently working on a national program, All Together Now, that will build stories of citizenship between youth and elders. In addition, CDS works in numerous cross-generational environments, in public health settings, education, environmental, and community service, where groups are gathered representing a multi-generational perspective.

  3. Kahuna Kupuna Annual Benefit Surf Contest
    Enjoy a day at the beach with others in the surfing community, celebrate the intergenerational nature of our sport and raise some much needed funds for Pacifica’s Environmental Family (PEF). An Intergenerational Team (IT) division welcomes surfers of all ages. Each IT must be 6 surfers, represent 3 generations (one generation = 18 years), include at least 1 surfer under age 20, any length/type board can be used and can include both males and females. Teams will surf together in their own heat. This event takes place every summer.

  4. OASIS: CATCH Healthy Habits Intergenerational Program – Los Angeles
    CATCH brings children and adults age 50+ together to learn good eating and physical activity habits for a lifetime. The program combats obesity by engaging adults age 50+ as mentors to teach healthy lifelong habits to kids in grades K-5. Adults in the program benefit in several ways. Research shows that volunteers have lower rates of depression and mortality and greater functional ability than those who do not volunteer. As they promote healthy habits for kids and for themselves, they also experience the rewards of meaningful community service.

  7. UCSF Medical Legal Partnership for Seniors Clinic
    Law students develop key lawyering skills through representation of low-income elderly patients at a UCSF medical clinic. Students assist clients in legal issues related to health, such as advance health care planning, estate planning, and public benefits.

  8. Santa Cruz Volunteer Center
    YouthServe is a program through a volunteer center dedicated to connecting youth ages 11-17 with rewarding community service projects across the Santa Cruz County area. The youth provide a senior tech day at the Santa Cruz senior computing center once a month.   10. ONEGeneration Intergenerational Center
    Our unique Intergenerational Program provides exciting activities such as creative art, cooking, movement, music, pet therapy, gardening and games. These caring connections between the children and the seniors help children acquire new interests and skills and learn the meaning of acceptance, cooperation and compassion.
