During the program, the senior citizens and youngsters (most between 13 and 15 years old) compare the similarities and differences of growing up today versus the early- to mid-1900s.

intergenerational program aimed at improving student achievement in reading for students in grades K-5 who reside in one of Woonsocket's poorest neighborhoods. Targeting students at Coleman Elementary Schools, the Generations of Learning AmeriCorps Project will consist of four full time and four part time Corps members as well as 18 minimum time members during the summer, ages 18 - 55+, who will work both during the school day, as well as in CCF's after-school programs. Members will utilize the Wilson Fundamentals reading curriculum during the school day, and will teach enrichment classes in the after school program.

The East Providence Reads Program is designed to enhance the literacy skills of young children of East Providence. Volunteers from RSVP provide their time and skills to help young readers in elementary schools achieve and improve reading scores. This once a week commitment runs from September until June.

Intergenerational program unites school-age children with residents residing in Nursing Homes throughout Rhode Island, the program operates during the school year students visit nursing homes and participate in planned social activities and provide a link to the outside communities Keyword: Shared Site

This is a shared site with adult day care and child day care. The program gives seniors and children the opportunity to build valuable bridges of friendship, acceptance, and respect. These golden bridges are nurtured through weekly scheduled activities while both adults and children reap the rewards of experiencing life together. Activities include exercise programs, arts and crafts, educational discussions, current events, games, modified sports, cards, movies, memory stimulation activities, field trips, music, spiritual time, and various special activities coordinated with community agencies.

New Hope is an intergenerational day program that provides service to aging adults and to children. A well-balanced program of activities is provided which includes intergenerational activities.

Sioux Falls, is partnering for the second year with Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) to host a one week multi-generational summer theatre camp which will result in the presentation of two performances of Aladdin.

Hosts intergenerational trips

Generations Connected is Community Care of Rutherford County’s on site Daycare and Preschool program. We offer services to the community at large, employee’s children and resident family members. Generations Connected fosters interactions between residents of CCRC and our children, developing a bond between generations. The residents and children come together on a regular basis for intergenerational activities. Keyword: Shared Site
