  2. Linden School at Elyria Wesleyan Village
    Linden School provides care for infants, toddlers, preschool children, before and after school care and summer camp through age 13. Linden School is located on the campus of the Elyria Wesleyen Village, a retirement center.  Throughout the day the senior residents, or "Grandfriends" as the children call them, visit with the children and participate in classroom activities.  This unique setting allows for the children and seniors to form lasting relationships.  All classroom staff are certified guides through Macklin Intergenerational Institute. The children visit with the residents, do arts and crafts projects, read together, play games and enjoy each other's company

  3. Generations Intergenerational Day Care (Heritage Day Health Center)
    The senior center run through Heritage Day is in the same site as a childcare center run through the YMCA. The children and older adults interact on a daily basis.

  4. Clapp Children’s Center at Breckenridge Village
    Clapp Children's Center is located in the center of Breckenridge Village retirement home campus. Through the Forever Young program the children visit with the residents of Breckenridge Village. The activities planned include sharing story time, creating crafts, and baking small snacks together.

  5. Champion Intergenerational Enrichment and Education Center
    The Champion Intergenerational Center is such a place, serving older adults, young children, and university students. Operated as a university/community collaboration, the Center offers many benefits to the Center participants, the Near East Side and wider community, and The Ohio State University faculty and students. Within OSU, the initiative is led by the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Social Work. Columbus Early Learning Centers is the early childhood care and education provider and National Church Residences provides adult day services.   6. OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring – Rochester
    You can change a life by providing the individual attention that helps children build confidence and success. Opportunities are available in the Churchville-Chili and Greece school districts and 18 other U. S. cities. OASIS volunteer tutors are paired with children in grades K-3 who would benefit from a one-on-one mentoring relationship. Tutors are trained to work with kids using a proven approach to literacy that emphasizes reading, talking and writing. They meet with their students at least once a week throughout the school year, providing a caring, supportive environment where reading and language activities, keyed to the child’s interests, spark curiosity and learning.

  9. Ithaca College and Cornell University
    Partnered with Tompkins County Office for the Aging, Ithaca College and Cornell University Project Generations students visit with an older adult in the Ithaca, NY area for about an hour each week. Volunteers help to fulfill seniors’ needs through providing companionship, mental stimulation, and social support. Project Generations aims to reduce the social stigma and recognize older adults’ value as community members with rich life experiences to share. The mission of the organization is to enrich older adults’ and volunteers’ lives by bridging the gap between the generations.

  10. Catskill Mountain Music Together-GENERATIONS
    Residents from the Ivy Lodge Assisted Living (formerly The Family Lodge) join the teacher and families each week for class, making our essential class even more of a community experience. The residents love being with the families and observing the children and the families offer their children a true musical exchange between people of all ages.
