The nationally recognized Multi-Generational Center (MGC) is located at 1035 N. Idaho Rd. Inside you will find several amenities, including pickleball, volleyball, basketball and a 28' climbing wall. The Center houses state of the art fitness equipment and offers a variety of fitness programs. Many special interest classes, sports leagues and public rentals are also available to the public.

Our primary mission is to provide children with a relaxed, safe, and happy environment to spend their days while away from their families, and to provide those families with peace of mind knowing that their most precious gifts are being well cared for. We offer children the opportunities to develop cognitively, socially, emotionally and physically through play-based activities. Our secondary mission is to support Gorham House in its efforts to provide the elderly residents, our “Grand Friends,” who live here with comfort, dignity, respect and the ability to witness a celebration of life that young children present so well. We do this, in part, by helping the children in our care to learn compassion, kindness, patience and tolerance towards others, regardless of age, skin color or ability. Keyword: Shared Site

The community center offers several kids’ programs — a preschool, an afterschool program, and a summer teen program. The afternoon of the Day of Caring, a group of kindergarteners dug into the dirt as well.

At Saint Joseph’s we understand and encourage the enrichment in our residents lives by promoting socialization, community involvement and friendship. We value the type of connection that our residents make with younger generations and support their ability to teach valuable lessons to others. We also believe that a younger population is able to bring new ideas and interests into our residents lives. By offering college students an opportunity to live in our facility, we support their professional and personal growth by allowing them real life working experiences. Students gain valuable knowledge by working directly with our residents and by developing professional and communication skills. Students are required to work a minimum of 16 hours each week but additional time spent with residents is strongly encouraged. Students currently have private rooms with a shared bath and shower room. A common area is available for students along with a meal purchasing program.

Clover’s intergenerational pre-school program emphasizes the concept that people come in a variety of sizes, ages and abilities. The sharing and exchanging of life experiences is as vital to structured elements of a well rounded education as letter and number recognition. Clover kids interact with and learn along side their “grandfriends.” Daily and weekly activities benefit both age groups. Art, music and free play enhance the more structured elements of pre-school learning, all with the goal of building a successful kindergarten experience. The enduring friendships that are formed between the children and residents offer lessons that last a lifetime.

Lifesongs is a life-affirming, intergenerational arts program that engages local communities to heal the fear that shrouds aging, illness, and death. Through deep relationship-building, storytelling, music, and performance, Lifesongs promotes dignity and inclusion for elders and those at the end of life. The Story Gathering project brings youth, community members, and elders together to share stories and life experiences. Participants collaboratively shape stories into new works of writing and art to present to the wider community. Keyword: Shared Site
