Tonya Wiley-Robinson is a dedicated senior executive with more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit management and strategic planning. She is a visionary leader with proven organizational management success, including more than 10 years of executive leadership on a national scale. She has stewarded millions of dollars from public and private funders, maximizing return on investment in measured outcomes and impact. Accomplished leader recognized for excellent communications and organizational management skills.
As Vice President of the National Human Services Assembly, Tonya was responsible for strategic leadership and management of programmatic initiatives as well as enhancing the internal operations and infrastructure that will allow the organization to continue to grow and fulfill its mission. She was responsible for developing and managing the program and policy aspects of the annual budget in conjunction with the finance/accounting partner and CEO.
Tonya Wiley-Robinson led MENTOR's External Affairs Department which encompassed the development and management of corporate, media, government and other key partnerships that advance the mission of the organization, reinforces its leadership in the field; generate revenue and create equity in the brand. During her tenure at MENTOR, she oversaw the National Mentoring Institute (NMI), providing training, product development, research and online services to build the capacity of organizations and individuals involved in mentoring. Under her leadership, NMI established national guidelines for mentoring, Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring™; developed Mentoring.org, the country’s most comprehensive resources for online mentoring expertise; and worked a network of Mentoring Partnerships to start or expand community-wide collaborations on mentoring.
Tonya has served as a director at United Way of America where she oversaw the National Youth Volunteer Initiative for more than 200 United Way organizations across the country. She has her B.A. in Liberal Arts and Science from Virginia Tech and has taken graduate course in Non-Profit Management at the University Maryland.
